eTrustITM Antivirus Installation Registration

This service is provided by Smart Computer Systems Ltd.

If you have not already registered for the Antivirus deal, you should do it now. We will be unable to install your software if you do not have the appropriate cdroms. Visit the IBM website at MOE Anti-Virus Deal. It is strongly recommended to upgrade to this version as it contains new methods of detecting virus threats, as well as including pest protection.

This is also the only version that will work with the Microsoft Vista platform. Should you not wish to upgrade, eTrust 7.1 will continue to function, for as long as Computer Associates support it.

eTrust ITM 8.1 is only compatible with Smart-Net 2.1.

With the impending Ministry of Education rollout of the eTrustITM anti-virus software, schools with Smart-Net Servers who wish to have this installed remotely by Smart Computer Systems Ltd have the following option:

  • We will install the new eTrustITM software on your server for a cost of $85.00 + GST.

We strongly recommend you use our installation service as we are the most familiar with how the Smart-Net server operates. Should you wish to use the installation services of your own technicians/preferred suppliers, we will supply the required passwords, at the schools written request (email is fine), if they are not already known.

The updates that this fee will cover includes:

  • Installation of the Antivirus product onto your Smart-Net server.
  • A daily scan of your Smart-Net server, with results emailed to sysadmin and itcontact @ your school.
  • Integration with MailScanner to virus check your inbound and outbound email that is sent via the Smart-Net server.
  • A method of updating your workstations antivirus definitions on your local area network. The IBM version of the antivirus software will automatically un-install any pre-existing antivirus package. You will need to install the eTrustITM client on each workstation.

The CA eTrust 8.1 disc pack was sent to your school about 18 months ago. The pack you recieved in February doesn't contain all the files required to complete the install. You can request a new pack through the Ministry of Education Helpdesk - 0800 22 55 42

Before we can install eTrustITM on to your server, you will need to use a workstation to load the following files on to the applications (V:\) share on your Smart-Net server. You must be logged in as sysadmin to complete the following steps.

  1. Insert the CD labelled "CA Integrated Threat Management for Non Windows Platforms"
  2. Copy the "Linux" folder to V:\antivir\etrust81\
  3. Copy the "Mac OS X" folder to V:\antivir\etrust81\
  4. Insert the CD labelled "Ezy-Install Disk for Windows"
  5. Copy the entire contents of the CD to V:\antivir\etrust81\

Then complete the form below... we will remotely install eTrustITM and advise by email when this is completed.
