The server is online but I cannot access the internet. How can I fix it?

If you have a broadband modem, the server is online and you are unable to access the internet the first step would be to restart the modem. To do this you will need to remove the power cable out of the back of the modem for 10 seconds, place it back in and wait for about 5 minutes then try accessing the internet again.

If you are able to login to the Intranet as sysadmin, go to Server Management > Internet Status Report. This will tell you if you have a connection to the internet. Click "ADSL Test" and this will report if the server can talk to the modem. If the server cannot talk to the modem, its possible the modem is powered down or the network from the modem to the switch/modem is disconnected. Check the server and modem.

There maybe an internet outage in your area. Check with your ISP to see if they have a network status message on their phone or speak to their support helpdesk and ask them to check your connection.
